The project Financial Literacy for 50 Schools supports teachers in conducting an age-appropriate and real-life oriented workshop about basic financial literacy and consumer education.
It fosters students necessary competences and raises awareness about possible economic challenges in daily life.
It is aimed primarily at students (> 12 years, 8.-10. grade).

Our ambitious goal is to enable the participating students to be able to work independently, competently, meaningfully and responsibly with their own material resources.
The free course teaching materials and learning content on basic financial literacy should enable students to set up a budget for a private household, realistically assess the current financial situation and possible developments in order to be able to plan (in later life) proactively and sustainably and to act effectively!

Unfortunately only inadequate, often not at all. School education is in Germany a matter of states. For economic education (consumer education) only Bavaria, Baden Württemberg and NRW have set binding guidelines. When it comes to financial literacy, in the curricula, ie teaching plans, the contents are considered differently, depending on the state and their preferences. 
Still today, the implementation and didactic design is outsourced to the schools and their dedicated teachers.
The completion of the set curriculum and the achievement of good grades continue to be the top priority.

With this project we aim to

1. support 50 schools in Germany to participate in our Financial Literacy project;
2. equip 300 classes and their teachers with age-appropriate, field-proven teaching materials and aids,  which can be time efficient and sustainable implemented, conducted and evaluated.
3. qualify 6,000 pupils (50 schools x 6 classes x 20 students) with skills to set up a budget for a private household, to be able to realistically assess the current economic/financial situation, to be able to plan and act in a constructive, comprehensive and sustainable manner.

1. We collect donations and look forward to many supports. Every single contribution counts!
2. We inform schools about the project and the conditions for free participation.
3. Who comes first... ! Depending on the donations available, registered schools may participate in the project in the order in which they register.
4. Procedure after registration of a school:

The school receives a free school license* for all teachers of a school, consisting of:

• Possibility to participate in 5 webinars (teacher training) about
  How to conduct a workshop with my class, about: 1. Expenditure, 2. income, 3. Budget/financial status, 4. Consumption/advertising, 5. Hamsterrad, game based workshop (Duration per webinar 60 Min.; schedule will be announced)  
• 1 teacher's booklet and 4 workbooks for students are available as downloads*
• 1 board game Hamsterrad, delivered to the school address

*The download is valid for 365 days from the day of activation.

5. Participating schools commit to prepare and submit a Feed-Back sheet
6. Teachers receive a training certificate on participation in webinars.

All schools in Germany have the opportunity to participate in the project. Important informations about the project, downloads and webinars are provided via our internet platform www.fingrubil.net. Communication takes place online.

1. € 7,500 for 50 school licenses
   The funds will be used to acquire 50 licenses for Financial Literacy. They will be forwarded to registered schools (in the order of registration).
   Content per license:
   - 5 student books (download) - 1 teacher's booklet (download) - 5 webinars for interested teachers on How to conduct a workshop with my class about: 1. Expenditure, 2. income, 3. Budget/financial status, 4. Consumption/advertising, 5. Hamsterrad, game based workshop - 1 board game Hamsterrad, the educational Game for Basic Financial Education.
2. 1.500 € contribution to necessary administration costs
   These funds are necessary for mailings, conducting webinars, monthly contribution to webinar provider etc.
